Easy  DIY  Vintage  Garden  Wreath

How to make an easy garden wreath using old rusty gardening tools

A garden wreath just adds to the coziness of an outdoor space!

MATERIALS:

1. Outdoor wreath (grapevine or evergreen)

2. 4-5 gardening tools (I used old rusty tools.)

3. Floral wire or bread twisty ties (to attach tools to wreath)

4. Small watering can or garden sign (for center opening of wreath)

5. Jute twine (to hang center object)

6. Faux blooms (optional)

ReStore Score! My favorite place to buy rusty old tools is the ReStore.

HOW TO MAKE:

This is such an inexpensive and easy DIY wreath!

1. Once all of the materials are gathered, practice placing the tools on the wreath, till you find the perfect layout. Then attach them with bread twisties. Wire would work too.

2. Add a couple blooms to the arrangement to create beauty and balance.

3. For a bigger wreath, hang a sign or watering can in the center opening using jute twine.

This was my first DIY vintage garden wreath. It looked so pretty hanging on the greenhouse door at Christmas time! I used an evergreen wreath, as well as red and green handled tools for Christmas.
This was my latest vintage garden wreath, created just in time for Spring. Things are about to get busy in the greenhouse and garden!

Last Fall we were driving to work and I spotted a moving sale. There were so many bargains priced at just $1-2, including an oversized grapevine wreath. It was perfect for my greenhouse door. I hung it just in time for Christmas, again adorning it with rusty old gardening tools scored for cheap at the ReStore.

The red Christmas watering can added just the right touch to this garden wreath!
Doesn’t the wreath look adorable hung on our potting shed door! The snow was a beautiful garden site and covered parts of the wreath beautifully.

With Spring at our doorstep it was time to update the greenhouse door wreath. With just a couple simple changes, I was able to use the same tool toting wreath. I removed the red Christmas watering can. To me, it then looked a bit bare. The big wreath needed something to fill its vacant center. YAY for Dollar Tree. I found the cutest metal garden sign.

For just $1.25, I was thrilled with this dollar store metal garden sign. I simply attached it to the grapevine wreath with jute twine. It matched the green handled tools wonderfully. Not quite done though…
All this wreath needed were a few Spring blooms to add color and to fill in the bare spaces. I used faux forsythias.

I chose to hang this easy DIY garden wreath on our greenhouse door. It would look just as darling on any exterior door or in a special garden spot, like a garden gate, potting bench, and more. The best part is that rust is not a problem; the rustier the better!

Happy Spring and happy gardening!
