My husband really likes old brown furniture, the darker the stain, the better for him. I too appreciate naturally stained furniture, but I also enjoy color, all kinds of colors. By blending both of our styles together, it creates balance and brightens things up a bit.
For years we’ve designated Friday as date day, seeking treasures in unexpected places.ย We scour estate sales and ReStore, looking for bargains. If I can find an old piece of furniture for less than $15, then my husband doesn’t mind if I paint it.
On one particular picking adventure, we found a dining table with 3 chairs marked down to just $10 at ReStore. Evidently, nobody wanted it. YAY! It looked just like the beautiful dining set that my husband grew up with in his family home. He’d never let me paint his mother’s old table, but for $10 that bargain table would soon be white!

Thank you!!! It’s one of my favorite furniture makeovers because of its impact on the whole room.๐
